The Caribbean boasts many children of literary talent: V.S. Naipaul, Edwidge Danticat, Derek Walcott, Kamau Brathwaite and Grace Nichols to name but a few.  Of these names, Nobel Prize winner Derek Walcott stands out as being famous for his poetry as much as his other writings – his epic poem Omeros having won worldwide literary acclaim.

Numerous poets continue to promote the region’s talent on the world stage.
